SweetGAINS Genome Data Release Policy
PLEASE READ BEFORE ACCESSING THE PRE-PUBLICATION IPOMOEA BATATAS BEAUREGARD GENOME SEQUENCE DATA:
The SweetGAINS Project is pleased to make available the pre-publication I. batatas Beauregard genome sequence for use by public and private research communities as a resource to facilitate plant biology discoveries and plant breeding programs.
This pre-publication I. batatas Beauregard genome data is made available with the understanding that users will respect the rights of those who contributed to this effort to describe the I. batatas Beauregard genome in a peer-reviewed publication. By accessing these data, users agree not to publish any articles containing analyses of genes or genomic data on a whole genome or chromosome scale prior to publication of the genome by SweetGAINS. The restricted analyses include the identification of complete sets of genomic features such as genes, gene families, regulatory elements, repeat structures, etc., and whole-genome comparisons of regions of evolutionary conservation or change. Studies of any type on the reserved data sets that are not in direct competition with those planned by SweetGAINS may be undertaken following an agreement. Interested parties are encouraged to contact Dr. Zhangjun Fei zf25@cornell.edu to discuss such possibilities.
The data may be freely used by all who respect the restrictions described above. Any use of the I. batatas Beauregard genome data prior to its publication should credit the SweetGAINS Project. Once moved to publication status, the I. batatas Beauregard genome data is freely available for any subsequent use.

The I. batatas Beauregard genome sequencing is primarily supported by Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation through the SweetGAINS project.

Zhangjun Fei (Boyce Thompson Institute/Cornell) has sequenced I. batatas Beauregard and created a consensus chromosome-scale genome assembly (version 1). The genome assembly has been annotated by Robin Buell and her group at the University of Georgia.
Release Date: November 20, 2024:
High confidence representative gene models are a subset of the high confidence gene model set. Each representative gene model is the isoform with the longest CDS at each locus.
The set of working gene models contains all loci and isoforms from the annotation pipeline and may include artifacts such as partial gene models.
